What happened to INNOVA products?
ENVEA has acquired the INNOVA technology range from Lumasense, seamlessly integrating it with their emission monitoring portfolio. The INNOVA Lumasense photoacoustic technology is now known as the PAS SENSE Series.
Who is ENVEA?
ENVEA is a global leader in environmental monitoring solutions with over 45 years experience in the field. ENVEA are proud to have acquired the Lumasense INNOVA range, expanding their offerings to a comprehensive product portfolio.
Where are PAS SENSE products made?
With the transition to ENVEA, all PAS SENSE products are now built, serviced and distributed directly from the CAI ENVEA Group facility in
Orange, California.
What is SF6?
Sulphur Hexafluoride, or SF6, is a critical gas that’s widely used in transmission and distribution equipment within the electrical industry. SF6 acts as a dielectric insulator in medium and high-voltage equipment, such as circuit breakers, gas insulated switchgear, disconnectors and ground switches, gas-insulated lines, substations, capacitors and more. SF6 works to prevent electrical arcs and short circuits by absorbing the energy created and ultimately extinguishing the arc.
Why is SF6 so important to measure?
Sulphur Hexafluoride, or SF6, is important to measure for safety purposes, and because it is a powerful greenhouse gas. SF6 has a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 24,300 times that of carbon dioxide over a 100-year period. As a result, SF6 is regulated under the Kyoto Protocol to limit its release into the atmosphere.
Which regulations require SF6 monitoring?
Rules and regulations are always subject to change. However, as
a general guide, SF6 monitoring
and reporting is required as part of
the EPA’s Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program, California’s Air Resource board regulations, Massachusetts’ regulation 310 CMR 7.72.
